Much like Rome, communities aren't built in a day. They're built over time, through thoughtful design that invites interaction, and through special events that encourage people to come together and celebrate life's moments, big and small. That's the thinking behind the exciting calendar of year-round events at every Shiplake community, and none is bigger than our annual Resident Appreciation BBQ.
For over a decade, this summer event has been a cherished tradition at our communities, serving as a heartfelt gesture to express our gratitude towards our valued residents. Each year, this gathering transforms our communities into vibrant and welcoming spaces. This year was no exception, with two exciting dates: the first at Tippett Park, followed by a combined celebration for The Torontonian and Lillian Park.
At Tippett Park residents enjoyed delicious food and drinks catered by BBQ Gourmet. The youngest residents let their imaginations run wild as the face painting station transformed them into a menagerie of cats, bunnies, and butterflies. Neighbours took part in lawn games for a little friendly competition. And everyone enjoyed the live music that kept the crowd grooving all day long.
A few days later, residents from The Torontonian and Lillian Park mixed and mingled over cocktails, beer, and beavertails (a Canadian tradition that long-time city residents enjoyed sharing with newcomers to the country). Once again, BBQ Gourmet provided mouth-watering dishes that fueled the day's activities which included lawn games, more face painting, and a special live musical performance by local drummer, musician, and entertainer, Sahab Habibi.
From big seasonal bashes to more intimate get-togethers, there's a whole calendar worth of programming and interactive events to enjoy at every Shiplake community, where we're building stronger connections, one beavertail, one BBQ, one smile at a time.
